"Come aboard" and be a "Crew Mate" on

Capt. Gus's commercial crab boat on Tampa Bay.

A once-in-a-life time Eco-experience with live blue crabs, stone

crabs; all the living creatures of the bay including it's

manatees, dolphins, bird life of laughing gulls, pelicans, herons,

egrots, and osprey. Bay Chop Villa is located at mouth of

 Little Manatee River and Tampa Bay .  

Gus will instruct"Mates" how crab traps are pulled and baited.

"Mates" learn to grade, clean, steam and "EAT" blue crabs and stone

crabs. Captain Gus will also let you pull the traps if you

so desire. Gus has commercially caught blue crabs

 and shed soft shell blue crabs for 31 years.

Gus is President of Oyster Reef Designs, Inc and inventor of Seawall

Oyster Reefs designed to restore shoreline habitat destroyed by

seawalls.

* Parties of two people - $300.

* Additional persons - $50 each - create your party up to 4

  or 6 persons.

* Party of 4 people - $400, Party of 6 - $500.

* 4 hour adventure tours - includes boat trip, cleaning, cooking, and 

  eating crabs at Bay Chop Villa.

* Boat leaves dock at 8 AM and 2 PM, or your time.

What "Crew Mates" should bring along.

* Sun protection (lotion, glasses, hat)

* Camera - a must!

* Bottle water furnished on boat.

* Slip on shoes...boat and dock may be wet.

* "Plus" bring an appetite for crab salad appetizer, steamed blue crabs, stone crab claws if in season, fried fish, soft shell blue crabs, hush puppies. plus desert snack.

* "Remember" if it's cool on land, it's colder on Tampa Bay...wear warm clothing.

* If you're thinking about pulling crab traps, which we encourgae for young and old, wear some old cloths.

Hi Gus,

As you can tell, we all had a fantastic time! It became apparent when we devoured the first batches of your delicious hush puppies that the rest of us really worked up an appetite watching Ivan haul in those 150-plus Blue Crabs. Next time we'll know to save a little more room for the excellent soft-shells, shrimp and steamed crabs. Oh yes - and those fabulous crab cakes! Best ones around, for sure. Can't wait to bring our California friends next month for another adventure. With many more to come...
