Riverside Club - Hayes Bayou - Little Manatee River
On March 12, 2005 photos were taken of waterfront properties of the Riverside Club new addition on Hayes Bayou on the Little Manatee River. Photos show how vegatation along shoreline looked in 2005. Photos show existing natural vegetation shoreline which provides a natural appearance and how upland vegetation and littoral vegetation catches nutrient runoff from uplands. Photos will be added to show over time how property owners change existing natural flora habitat. Removal of shoreline flora will have a negative impact on river environment and its natural appearance and be counter producitive to the Shoreline Wildlife Corridor, a Conservation Element of Hillsborough County Comp. Plan.
Policy 13.14: Hillsborough County shall protect the integrity of Shoreline Wildlife Corridors and promote the understanding of the importance of these areas.
Shoreline Wildlife Corridor: Upland areas, that function as wildlife corridors, along the shorelines of natural water bodies important to the function and health of natural systems and wildlife. Shoreline Wildlife Corridors shall be the same area encompassed by the applicable wetland buffer under the Comprehensive Plan.
